Who is Buddy Frank?
Buddy Frank has over 30 years of senior management experience in both Slot Operations and Casino Marketing. He was inducted into the Slot Operations Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Las Vegas in March of 2023. After retiring as Vice President of Slot Operations at Pechanga Resort & Casino, he is currently a consultant with BF Slot Strategies in Reno. Prior to joining Pechanga, Mr. Frank served in a similar position with Viejas Casino near San Diego. He began his career in the Reno/Tahoe area, and later worked at casino operations in Las Vegas, Arizona, Colorado, Mississippi and New York.
Buddy currently edits and writes monthly features in CDC Gaming Reports entitled “Frank Floor Talk.” A short collection of some of his most recent articles are in the “Blog.” He currently teaches marketing and slot-related courses for and the University of Nevada, Reno and did the same for San Diego State in the past. He served on the editorial boards of Casino Enterprise Management and Native American Casino magazines. He has been a consistent speaker, moderator or panelist at G2E in Las Vegas; and the IGA Show in Las Vegas, Phoenix and San Diego.
He loves all aspects of slot operations, but has a particular passion for slot analytics, floor computer visualizations, game theory, training and new slot technology.
Before his move to gaming, Mr. Frank was a television news broadcaster in Reno. He holds a B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno in Journalism and prior to getting his degree, he served in U. S. Navy.
During his time away from the casino, Buddy enjoys bicycling, is a certified Scuba instructor, and loves photography and computers. He currently lives in Reno, NV with his wife Dianna. They are empty-nesters with two grown sons and three new granddaughters.
